Please take a long look at the incredible fleece on this young, beautiful brown female… it is gorgeous. One look at her lineage explains why. Her sire is Peruvian Black Mesquite, the son of Peruvian Matador. Whether in black, grey or an occasional lighter color, Mesquite’s offspring are very
competitive.
MFI Peruvian Butterball
(below) is a rare, fawn Mesquite daughter who won numerous shows this past year. While we have never showed Mesquite’s
black dam Peruvian Heidra, her fleece has won over eight ribbons.
On her dam’s side, Peoria’s grandfather is Peruvian Valeroso – the awesome light coffee colored herdsire sold in our 2002 Breeder’s Choice Auction to Glen Ridge Farm. Valeroso was hand selected by Magical Farms and an alpaca judge as the FIRST MALE chosen in the 1997 Peruvian import, which featured many wonderful colored alpacas.
Peoria’s beautiful fleece exhibits multiple crimps per inch with high amplitude, which is very rare for such a dark color. She was too young to show this spring but can begin her show career for you this fall before you retire her to production. She’s an excellent color… one you shouldn’t miss! |
